Do you know what piercing you want but don't know what its called? Are you looking for inspiration for your next body piercing? Here are some examples of body piercings and how they may look on the body. Of course, body piercing is anatomy dependent and therefore even if you have your heart set on a particular piercing it may not actually be possible. For example, some of us have very long tongues and can have multiple tongue piercings and some of us have very short tongues and can't have any tongue piercings! Some of us have very curled ears making cartilage piercing difficult whereas some of us have ears that can accomodate multiple cartilage piercings.
In a nutshell, we're all the same but different !!!!!

Surface piercings get an awful lot of bad press, but if done correctly by a skilled piercer, with the correct jewellery and correct aftercare followed by the individual they can be a beautiful addition to anyone's body art. The great thing about surface piercings though is that almost anything goes!
Hips Surface Piercing:

It is adviseable to note however, that due to the amount of movement by the hips, this surface piercing is high on the rejection list.

Navel Piercing |
Navel Piercing (Belly Button) :
Probably the single most popular body piercing. The navel (belly button) can have a singular piercing or multiple piercings (anatomy depending) and just about anywhere around the belly button can be pierced. If a single piercing is the goal, then the most common place for this is in the centre and at the top of the belly button.
Multiple Navel Piercing:
As previously discussed, the navel can just about be pierced anywhere around it. Multiple piercings are very effective, however this is of course anatomy dependent. |

Nipple Piercing With Barbell |
Nipple Piercing:
Nipple piercing can be done either with a straight barbell or a ball closure ring. However, barbells do tend to settle better due to the fact that ball closure rings have a lot more movement and therefore can of course aggrevate a new piercing causing it longer to settle and or heal. |
