Knowing which size of jewellery to buy is made a lot easier if you know how to measure the body jewellery that you already have. We have put together a short list of the basics to make the job as easy as possible.
*The first measurement in the jewellery size is the gauge (thickness) of the bar or ring and the second measurement is the length of the bar (not including the balls) or the internal diameter if it is a body ring (inside edge to inside edge).

Example 1: *If the size is 1.6mm x 10mm, then it is 1.6mm thick and 10mm long (bar) or internal diameter inside edge to inside edge if it is a body ring. Example 2: *If the size is 1.2mm x 8mm, then it is 1.2mm thick and 8mm long (bar) or internal diameter inside edge to inside edge if it is a body ring.
